Do you speak French? If so, I’m assuming my question above is just a piece of cake for you but for all of you who don’t speak this language, you’ll find a short explanation of our next term in the grey box below.
Must known fashion term #7: Jabot
Today we’d like to introduce you to a French word called ‘jabot‘. It’s a clothing accessory worn around the neck since it means bird’s crop in English. Jabots were worn especially in the 17th and 18th centuries and consisted of cambric or lace edging sewn to both sides of the front opening of a man’s shirt, and partially visible through a vest worn over it. Not until the late 19th century a jabot would be a cambric or lace bib for decorating women’s clothing too.
What you also have to know is that today the white bibs of judges of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany are described as jabots.

A bib is some piece of a garment hanging from the neck to the chest and usually worn by babies to protect their clothing from spilling. The term bib may also refer to the part of a garment that covers the chest like the so-called bib dress shirts which have some separate part of garment on the chest. The part of a jumper dress or of overalls that covers the chest may also be referred to as a bib.

You don’t have to be dressed up everywhere, anytime – not necessarily. Sometimes it is absolutely sufficient to dress easily like the guy in this picture below. We really liked his True Religion hoodie with its zip front closure and zip front pockets. Looks very sporty and is just nice to have. Get it here.
Hey Ladies, as requested here is another overall for you. This time it’s a bit more casual, not too sexy but still something unique. Just grab a slim fitted top underneath and put on a nice bracelet or ring and here we go. Simple, easy but so well dressed at the same time!
