    Flapper Dress

    Mai 15th, 2016

A flapper dress is a style of dress worn during the 1920’s and 1930’s in western cultures. The flapper dress is sleeveless, cut straight and is loose fitting with a dropped waistline and covers the upper body and upper thighs with the hem typically at the knee or upper calf. Flapper dresses put no emphasis on the female body shape, but can be highly adorned with sequins, beads and fringe that moved when dancing.

    Fair Isle Knitting

    August 3rd, 2015

Fair isle knitting, also known as stranded knitting, is a technique that creates a knitted fabric with two or more colors in one row, by dropping the yarn and carrying it loosely along the wrong side of the fabric. The loose yarns should be covered for them not to snag or can be used as decorative elements when the fabric’s wrong side is used on the outside of a garment or bag. The technique is named after an island in North Scotland and became popular first in England in the 1920’s.
