    A pleated skirt is a skirt that is made of pleated fabric. This adds volume to the skirt but keeps it structured as opposed to flowing. Pleated skirts are produced in many variations but most typically are short, reaching above the knee. The added volume can be flattering on most body shapes, as it accentuates the hips and visually slims the waist.

    Palazzo Pants

    A Palazzo pant is a long and wide pant that consistently flares from the waist down and typically becomes very wide towards the bottom. They first became popular in the 1960’s and 1970’s and were made of lightweight flowing fabrics such as silk and jersey. Palazzo pants are typically worn by women.

    Pleated Front Pants

    A pleated front pant is a pant that has pleats placed on the front of the pant, below the waistband, decreasing the width of the pant towards the top to make it fit around the waist. Pleated front pants typically have a higher rise and are worn above the hip-bone. They are worn by men and women alike.

    A pin is an adornment consisting a needle that pierces the fabric of a garment to be attached to it and other adornments such as metal ornaments, gem-stones, pearls and other precious or decorative materials. Pins can also have a meaning symbolizing the affiliation with a group, achievements or the position in a hierarchy. In fashion pins are often used for ornamentation on jackets, coats and vests and are popular on accessories such as bags or hats.

    Plissé

    A plissé fabric is a textile that is permanently pleated by using a combination of certain fibers that are treated with sodium hydroxide. Plissé fabric is typically made of light-weight textiles and is predominantly used in womenswear especially for dresses, skirts and blouses. Before the plissé-treatment the fabric can have any design or coloration. Because of the special treatment required for the permanent puckering, plissé fabrics are more expensive than regular fabrics.

    Phoebe Philo

    Phoebe Philo, French Fashion Designer, born 1973 in Paris. Philo began her career studying at the prestigious design school Central Saint Martins in London. Here she met designer Stella McCartney who she became friends with and her Assistant Designer at Chloé. After McCartney left the company in 2001, Philo became the brands Creative Director. In 2008, Philo was appointed the role of Creative Director and Board Member at the French fashion house Céline. Her first collection for the brand received great praise and Philo continued to build the brads image, reputation and design tremendously. This success earned her various awards including „International Designer of the Year“ by the CFDA and a spot on the „Times 100 most Influential List“ in 2014. Philo is known for her minimalist aesthetic with clean lines and beautiful and strong designs.

    Paquin, Jeanne

    Jeanne Paquin, French fashion designer, lived from 1869–1936. She founded her namesake fashion house “House of Paquin” in 1891. It was the first fashion house founded by a woman. The French designer who was trained to be a dressmaker at the fashion house Rouff, designs 18th century inspired pastel evening gowns and day dresses which the Maison Paquin becomes famous for. Considered by many to be one of the first female couturiers, she also started organizing fashion events for the Maison Paquin such as races and operas. In 1920, Paquin left the fashion house and passed on the administration before the house closed down in 1956 due to financial difficulties. During its existence the fashion house grew to a very successful and the biggest fashion house in Paris, known for the vivid colors and extravagant furs Jeanne Paquin used, as well as luxurious lingerie and tango dresses.

    Philippe Model

    Philipp Model, French shoe label, founded 1981 by Philippe Model. Model started his career in fashion as a haute couture hat designer for famous designer  labels. In 1984 he opened his first boutique in Paris where he sold hats and eventually gloves, shoes and accessories. In 2008, Model meets the Italian designer Paolo Gambato and starts designing shoes with him. The shoes are made by hand by skilled shoemakers and give every shoe an own character. The brand is especially known for its fashionable sneakers.

    Parajumpers

    Parajumpers, Italian outdoor label, founded 2005 by Ape & Partners and Massimo Rossetti. Parajumpers is named after a rescue squadron in Alaska, that help people in danger in the mountains or in the see. The brand offers functional outerwear made of the most innovative materials with functional elements such as cellphone pockets and carbines. The clothes are comfortable and rugged. The aim is not to provide the most fashionable, but the most functional garments.
