Alber Elbaz
The Moroccan-born Israeli fashion designer Alber Elbaz (born in 1961) is the creative director of the French fashion house Lanvin. In 1998, Elbaz began designing ready-to-wear women’s clothing for Yves Saint Laurent. In the position, Elbaz’s talent was recognized, and he was groomed to become the head designer of the house when Saint Laurent retired. After several changes of the ownership, the fashion house of Lanvin went finally to Alber Elbaz in October 2001. Since then, he is the artistic director for all activities, including interiors, and he has conducted his responsibilities in a highly personal, hands-on manner.
