    Dior

Mr. Dior was an influential French fashion designer, best known as the founder of one of the world’s top fashion houses, aka Christian Dior. He was born on January 21st, 1905 in Granville, Manche (a seaside town on the coast of France) and he died on October 24th, 1957. The first Christian Dior collection after Dior’s death was created just in 9 weeks by the 21 year-old Yves Saint Laurent, his design assistant back then. Due to the conscription in the French army, Saint Laurent left the Dior house and opened then his own couture house. He was replaced at Dior by Marc Bohan, who instilled his conservative style on the collections until 1996 when the young Briton John Galliano was hired as the chief designer of Christian Dior by the company’s new owner, the LVMH luxury goods group. He worked at the couture house until March 2011 after they officially announced that it had fired Galliano amidst the anti-semitic and public assaulting controversy.
