    Flapper Style

The slangy word ‘flapper’ or ‘flap’ was used in the 1920s to describe fashionable young women in her early twenties or late teens that was wearing short skirts, bobbed hairstyles and listened to jazz music. Flappers used a lot of makeup, were drinking, smoking, driving cars and having casual sex without being married. The typical flapper style, also called ‘Twenties Styles‘ were knee-length dresses, long-waist blouses and coats without waistlines worn in wrap style, often with huge fur collars. The hairstyle back at the time was cut in short bobs.
