    Franco Moschino

Franco Moschino, Italian fashion designer, lived from 1950 to 1994. Moschino studied fine arts in 1967 to become a painter. The Italian worked freelance as a fashion illustrator to finance his studies and eventually became more interested in sketching, fabrics and tailoring. In 1971, Moschino officially started off his fashion career when he was named a fashion illustrator for Gianni Versace. Moschino worked for another six years at the Italian label Versace before he was hired by the Italian fashion brand Cadette as a designer in 1977. Moschino worked there until 1982 and decided then to establish his own namesake fashion label a year later in 1983. His label became a fashion house that is internationally known for its ready-to-wear women’s, men’s and childrenswear that comes along with its colorful and innovative designs. After Moschino’s death in 1994, Rossella Jardini, his former assistant became the creative director of the fashion house.
