    H-Line

The H-Line was introduced by French couture designer Christian Dior in 1954. The term ‘H-Line’  is usually used to describe a certain type of clothing, usually a dress or a skirt that is shaped like the capital letter ‘H’. Its slim-fitting shape with a straight, narrow cut falls to, or just below, the knee. Dior used his invention of the classic pencil skirt which was tailored for a close fit back then to describe the shape of the new H-Line. His H-lined dresses have the same shaped bottom like the pencil skirts and just straight cutted necks like the horizontal line of the letter H.
