    Illusion knitting

Illusion knitting is also known as shadow knitting, as it creates the illusion of a changing pattern on a garment. This effect is created by the knitter, using two or more colors when knitting and alternating these after each row. Because of the different height of the rows only one color is visible when looking at the fabric straight on. When seen from a different angle the hidden colors become visible and create a new visual pattern.
