    Moccasins

Moccasins are slippers made of soft leather, originally worn by Native American Indians. Characteristic about moccasins is, that the sole and the shoe around the foot are made of one piece of leather that is sewn to one other piece of leather on top of the foot. In the 18th century moccasins were first imported into Europe and became a popular house shoe. Now moccasins are still worn inside, but also outside in different variations as a street shoe. Moccasins have a hard or soft sole depending on the terrain, could be worn ankle high or flat. They are often decorated with beading and tassels.
