    Printemps

Printemps, French department store, founded by the two business men Jules Jaluzot and Jean-Alfred Ducos in 1865 in Paris. ‘Printemps’ is a French word and means spring in English. It stands for renovation and new ideas and is one of the largest department stores in France next to Galeries Lafayette and Le Bon Marché. The French retailer is famous for many innovations in the retail business, being the first store to run with electricity, have fixed prices and show fashion on mannequins in their windows. The famous colorful glass dome roof, as well as the facade of Printemps were declared historic monuments of Paris in 1975. Today, Printemps has 23 locations world-wide in addition to 13 discount stores. The flagship is the famous Printemps on Boulevard Haussmann close to other famous French department stores.
