    Single-point dart

Darts are used on garments that are tailored to fit the wearers shape. They make a flat fabric three-dimensional. To create a single-point dart the fabric is gathered on the inside, sewn together from the edge of the fabric ending in one point. This type of dart is most commonly used on the woman’s bust and on the waist of trousers and skirts shaping the fabric to the body.
