    Trunk Hose

“Hose” was the term in the Middle Ages through the 17th century for any kind of garment covering a man’s lower body or legs. Later these were called breeches and stockings and are referred to as pants today. The trunk hose was worn in the 16th and 17th century. It was a puffed voluminous pair of breeches that reached from the waist to mid-thigh and was worn over tights.
