    Jourdan, Charles

    Juni 14th, 2010

Charles Jourdan, French shoe maker, lived from 1883 to 1976. Jourdan founded his namesake women’s shoe label in 1919. Two years later, the talented designer had been growing his shoe production to a medium sized factory where he employed over 30 people. For the next decade he made a name for himself and became recognized as an haute couture house. In 1946, his two sons joined the company and expanded to sell their shoes in the UK. In 1975, the brand extended its shoe line and added ready-to-wear clothes and accessories. One year later, the founder died and the company continued under the creative direction and management of his two sons.
