November 21st, 2013Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts, founded 1663 by David Teniers the younger in Antwerp, Belgium. The Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts is one oft he oldest and most prestigious of its kind. Since the 19th century it has attracted creative students from around the world and boasts successful graduates such as Dries van Noten, Martin Margiela and Vincent van Gogh. First known for its art, architecture and design, a fashion design course was established in 1963 and became the schools new focus. Today, many courses are offered at Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts such as photography, graphic design, costume & fashion design and printmaking. Students are motivated to work with fashion in an innovative and highly creative manner in order to create art rather than a product of the fashion industry.
