    Single-breasted Jacket

    Dezember 9th, 2013

A jacket or coat is single-breasted when it is closed in the front with one row of buttons and overlaps slightly. This is the contrary to double-breasted jackets and coats, which feature two parallel rows of buttons and have a larger piece of overlapping fabric. Single-breasted jackets usually have two or three buttons in a row though jackets with one or four buttons exist. A single-breasted jacket may be worn open for more comfort even in more formal surroundings.
