    Twin-set

    A twin-set is a sweater with a matching cardigan all made with the same fabric and color. Fashion designer Otto Weisz first invented the clothing set for the knitwear label Pringle of Scotland in 1943. During the 1950s and 1960s twin-sets have been associated most closely with women’s work wardrobes, particularly in secretarial work or teaching, but were occasionally viewed as too casual for more conservative workplaces where dress suits were preferred.
