    November 14th, 2013

    H-Line

    Oktober 27th, 2011

The term ‘H-Line’ is usually used to describe a certain type of clothing, usually a dress or a skirt that is shaped like the capital letter ‘H’. Its slim-fitting shape with a straight, narrow cut falls to, or just below, the knee. The H-Line was introduced by French couture designer Christian Dior in 1954. He used his invention of the classic pencil skirt which was tailored for a close fit back then to describe the shape of the new H-Line. See also Dior’s A-Line and Y-Line.

    Skirt

    Januar 12th, 2011

A skirt is a tube- or cone-shaped garment that hangs from the waist and covers all or a part of the legs. There are different types of skirts: straight skirt, hobble skirt, pleated skirt, T-skirt, trouser skirt, trumpet skirt, sarong skirt, rah rah skirt, prairie skirt, poodle skirt, cargo skirt, broomstick skirt, ballerina skirt, pencil skirt and circle skirt. In 1985, Jean Paul Gaultier introduced the men-skirt and caused a shock in the fashion’s world since until then it was only considered to be a women’s garment.
