The X-Pocket is a type of flat pocket used on denim jeans, initially introduced in 1978 by the denim brand Closed. The pockets are attached to the back of pants tilted slightly towards the middle seam which makes them easier to access and also adds an interesting visual detail without adding extra unpractical fabric to the jeans.

A welt pocket, also called slit pocket is usually a breast pocket sewed on the left side front of a men’s suit blazer or coat. It is a pocket that is finished with a narrow, welted piece of fabric, known as piping or lip. This makes the pocket more resilient and gives it a seamless look. If both edges have welts, the pocket is called a double-besom pocket, if a flap is added to the pocket, it is called a flapped-besom pocket. Welt pockets are more for decoration than for practical purposes, but may have a button for closure.
