    Hunter

    April 7th, 2010

Hunter Boot Ltd., aka the ‘North British Rubber Company’, founded by American-born entrepreneurs Henry Norris and Spencer Parmele in 1856 in Edingurgh, Scotland. The two friends and business partners came to Scotland to work on a patent for Charles Goodyear that included the manufacturing of rubber overshoes and boots. What started as a garage company quickly evolved in a substantial business employing over 600 workers by 1875. Now and then, the green ‘Hunter’ wellington boot was the company’s best selling product. Espeacially during the two World Wars, the production of rubber boots skyrocketed. Today, ‘Hunter’ boots are not only a desirable product among the hunting community around the world but an item loved by fashionistas too. Therefore, ‘Hunter’ started producing a special edition of black wellington boots in 2009, featuring Jimmy Choo’s crocodile print and logo. The boot manufacturer runs sub-divisions in London and New York and is internationally distributed in over 30 countries worldwide.
