    Isetan

    August 3rd, 2015

Isetan, Japanese department store chain, founded 1886 by Tanji Kosuge in Tokyo, Japan. Isetan has for centuries been the largest and most important department store in Japan. The store was created, by merging the two already famous department stores “Isetan” and “Mitsukoshi”. Isetan offers everything shoppers might look for: from high-end fashion, over food, to traditional Japanese items such as pottery, artwork and kimonos. The store is also known for having debuted many European designers on the Japanese fashion market. The group has been expanding with stores in Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong, London and Vienna, to list a few, and plans to further expand in the future.

    Specialty Store

    Januar 13th, 2014

Generally speaking a specialty store is a store that focuses on a specific group of items. In fashion this can be a store that sells sustainable fashion, only carries one brand or specializes on for example t-shirts or sneakers. Specialty stores have a narrow offering of different products but a very deep offering of the product group they specialize in. Therefore Sales associates are experts in that small product group and can provide exceptional consulting. Examples of specialty stores are Happy Socks, The Gap or ToysRus.
