    Weave Fabric

    Mai 10th, 2016

Weave fabrics consist of interlaced horizontal and vertical threads called the warp and weft. Weaving is an alternative method to knitting, felting or plaiting to create a textile fabric and has been used for fabric production since 7000 BC. A woven fabric can be created by hand or using a loom. Today, electronic looms are used and can produce large amounts of woven fabric in a short amount of time. The basic weaves are plain, satin and twill weave. Plain weave is characterized by a horizontal and vertical structure in the fabric, which is identical on both sides of the fabric. The satin weave has a different front and back side. The twill weave is characterized by a diagonal structure on both sides. Weaving and knitting are the most common forms of textile production.
