Latest Fashion News: Sued red-soled shoes

    September 21st, 2011

Christian Louboutin or Yves Saint Laurent – whose shoes are these now below? Wasn’t the red sole Loubou’s trademark? Jepp, it was! As of a couple of weeks, a judge denied Christian Louboutin’s request that Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) stop selling his trademark of red-soled shoes. Consumer confusion and the use of the color “red” as a design element on an article of fashion wasn’t enough to sue YSL. In the end, YSL has been making and selling red-soled shoes since the seventies. What’s on your mind. Is Loubou’s claim appropriate or a little overboard?
